Participation in this grant puts a Chromebook in the hands of every 7-8th grade teacher, trainer, administrator and student at your school. It also equips your school with makerspace equipment such as 3D printers, probes, and video production tools. But this project is not about technology--it is about innovation, 21st century skills and improving student achievement.

To improve student achievement, Innovation in the Heartland supports teachers in all aspects of effective instruction, promotes STEM education using design-based problem-solving, and fosters critical 21st century skills such as creativity, grit, and self-regulation. In order to achieve these goals, teachers undergo two years of sustained, evidence-based professional development.
