Control Schools
Webinar for Control Schools participating in data collection The American Institutes of Research will be conducting an external evaluation of the project as required by SEED regulations. The research project will be implemented as a field trial. Schools who sign up for participation are vetted for eligibility. Eligible schools are randomly selected for participation and randomly assigned to treatment or control groups.
Controls schools will be contacted by AIR in August of 2020 to submit Teacher Rosters.

Schools Assigned to Control:
- Continue typical practice during 2019 - 2021 and submit data to the project which will serve as a comparison for treatment schools.
- Participate in two years of professional development in 2021-22 and 2022-23 school years.
- Control school participation in the project is contingent upon approval of a two-year grant extension by the federal Department of Education.

Data Collection for Treatment and Control Schools
Important Notice - While individual and district project participation and data submission is strictly voluntary and participants may withdraw from the project at anytime, attrition could negatively affect the impact results of the study. Therefore, we strongly encourage involvement of all stakeholders including affiliate trainers, principals and teachers to make an informed decision before submitting an agreement to participate.
- Student and teacher demographic data
- Student and teacher surveys
- Student state test scores
- Classroom observations (Once per year for randomly selected teachers. Not all teachers will be observed.)
- Interviews with teachers, affiliate trainers and principals (treatment only)
- School case studies (treatment only)
- All data will be kept confidential
