eMINTS Affiliate Trainer Program

My two years as an eMINTS affiliate trainer have been transformational for me as a teacher leader.

Each school selects two staff members to serve as Affiliate Trainers (AT).  Through the AT Program, participants gain the knowledge and skills necessary to implement eMINTS high-quality professional development with the 7-8th grade math, science, social studies, and language arts teachers in their building.  ATs also learn techniques for working with adults and facilitating adult learning, building their capacity to deliver all types of PD at their schools.

Key components of the two-year Affiliate Trainer Program:
  • eMINTS staff provide support and mentoring for ATs via ongoing support calls and virtual coaching
  • Materials are provided for ATs to  use in the delivery of face-to-face PD for teachers in your school
  • eMINTS staff provide PD for ATs on how to facilitate the face-to-face PD, how to coach and mentor teachers and how to plan and deliver a PD program
  • ATs earn eMINTS Certification upon completion of program requirements
The training I have received through eMINTS applies to all situations I face within my position.

It has given me so much useful and relevant information, tools, and strategies to apply as I interact with teachers and students.

Beyond the reward of being an agent of change and seeing the impact of their work on student achievement and engagement in their schools, ATs enjoy new professional opportunities.  Affiliate Trainers become instructional coaches who are confident and collaborative communicators, designers and facilitators of adult professional learning and skilled professionals able to support educators and students in the modern day classroom.

It may be challenging for some schools with limited staff to identify which staff members will serve as Affiliate Trainers.   For  tips on selecting Affiliate Trainers, view this short video (3:39).  If you would like additional assistance with selecting an Affiliate Trainer, contact Michelle Kendrick, Program Coordinator, at kendricktm@emints.org.
