Program Philosophy and Pedagogy
The eMINTS Instructional Model addresses all aspects of effective instruction required for modern digital age classrooms. Based upon constructivist learning theory, it has four pillars focused on authentic learning, building a community of learners, using high-quality lesson design, and using technology to transform learning. The eMINTS Instructional Model is supported by 20 years of external research.

Inquiry-based learning is at the heart of our model, and in this project, we extend inquiry-based learning to design problems across content areas. eMINTS builds students’ 21st century college- and career-ready skills. We specifically address essential problem-solving ability and noncognitive skills such as persistence, grit and academic mindset. This project engages teachers in the creation of interdisciplinary STEM lessons that use the design process to solve problems while also promoting the use of highly effective teaching strategies across all types of instruction.

- Teachers will increase their use of highly effective teaching strategies, promote positive interactions in their classroom, and improve at designing effective standards-based interdisciplinary lessons
- Students will increase academic achievement in Math, ELA & Sci and non-cognitive skills such as problem-solving and academic mindset
- Schools will implement a multi-level system (for teachers, trainers and administrators) to support an efficient and effective model of eMINTS that integrates STEM across subjects
