3 Key Questions

Our teachers and students have really enjoyed eMINTS, and it is having such a positive impact on teaching and learning in our 7th grade!
                                                                                           ~JG, Affiliate Trainer, Canyons, Utah
In this project, eMINTS expands its focus on inquiry to STEM learning opportunities, providing students the chance to use the engineering design process to solve problems in their local communities.  When eMINTS teachers transfer what they learn in the program into their daily practice, classrooms are transformed into highly engaging, student-centered learning communities where students tackle messy real-world problems, develop college and career-ready skills, and use technology in meaningful, productive ways.

Participation in this project may change business-as-usual for many schools and therefore requires careful consideration.
We encourage districts and schools to use the following questions to guide their decision-making about participation in the project:

Is it a good fit?

The anticipated benefits of this project depend upon a school's readiness to adopt an innovative approach to STEM education and whether the goals of the project align with the school's philosophical approach.  To learn more, go to Is This Program a Good Fit For Our Building?.

Is everyone
on board?

Participation in this project is school-wide and requires buy-in from those whose daily practice will be most affected by its implementation.  To learn more about the commitment required from teachers, trainers and administrators, go to Are Your Stakeholders on Board?.

Do we have the resources?

Participation requires investment from the school in terms of staff time, travel and technological requirements to support the Chromebook and Innovation Lab initiatives.  Read about the expectations at  Do We Have the Necessary Resources?
